SharePoint Intranet & Grantee Sites
The SharePoint Family Support Services (FSS) Intranet and Grantee sites are two projects that I am currently working on, with the intranet launching at the end of October. There were steps I took before I started building the FSS intranet, such as:

-
Extensive SharePoint training.
-
Researched and reviewed other SharePoint sites for ideas.
-
Created a pre-implementation report, wireframe, and project management dashboard.
-
Planned and executed a focus group of users within FSS.

SharePoint Training
Completed extensive SharePoint training conducted by the TX HHSC SharePoint Team and free courses from Microsoft before pre-implementation.

Pre-Implementation Tasks
First, I used Microsoft Planner as a project management tool to help keep the project on track. Second, a pre-implementation plan* was created and shared with management. Lastly, I made three wireframes for the homepage, 'About Us' page, and employee resources page.
Review and Research
My manager, team, and I reviewed various SharePoint sites, and we compiled a list of our wants and needs based on our research. I also met with other SharePoint developers to learn the do's and don'ts of building a site.
FSS Focus Group
I created a survey to gather opinions from a select group of users across various FSS departments and receive feedback on what end-users would like to see on the intranet. With the help of my manager, we successfully received a 95% participation rate.
